Looks like LR044565 leaking in 2 places. Has anyone had any experience fitting these? Guy Salmon spotted it during the timing belt service want £450 for the privilege. L494 3.0L SDV6 Autobiography in Chile Red (Current)

I'm not sure if this is a direct comparison with the 320 but a couple of years ago my Indie spotted a leak in mine. When I asked what to do about it he said leave it for now as it was very minor. So 2 years later and still no serous issues and the suspension still all works as it should.

The part no. you have is for a 4.4 SDV8 vehicle as opposed to a 3.0 SDV6 (your profile says a SDV6 494). I've replaced this on my 3.0 L494 as it was misting only for the new one to do exactly the same. It seems they mist where the high pressure hose is crimped to the alloy unions. Couldn't be bothered to chuck more money away and left it alone - that was over 100K miles ago and it's never caused a problem with low ACE fluid. SDV6 - https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.com/p...and-rover/ SDV8 - https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.com/p...and-rover/ Have a look at it, and it'll probably be a very fine mist at either end of the flexible pipe, then make up your mind. Incidentally the part No. for the SDV8 is £90 dearer than the SDV6, so that makes their labour quite high for a simple job. |
