Connector recognition competition.

Right. I've had the steering-column out of the car and on refitting can't find a home for the red/black connector in the photo below. It's in the same loom as the green connector. Even with the steering-column out again I can't see a socket for it. I'm either going blind / being stupid or it doesn't go anywhere near the 'clockspring' box. Any ideas gratefully received!

Hugh

Can't see anything. The position suggests something close to the wiper switch.

From memory that look so much like the one that plugs in the 8 pin socket on the rear of the clock spring, not the ringed one that's for the heated steering wheel

Do you know what the 4 pin one does?

Thumbs Up

The clock-spring is back in now, so time for a dental mirror and torch!

Yes! You get a gold star and can go to the playground early, Andy! THANK YOU.

I couldn't visualise the bit you meant but it dawned on me today. The plug has many sockets and the socket only has four pins but they do mate.

i think I gave you the wrong advise.

It's just 4 wires that goto the immobiliser thing

Colours in post above.

I'm fairly sure I'm right, following your post, "Imboliser won't turn off" Rolling with laughter

Yep - just four wires of those colours. Don't know why the connector has so many sockets.

Thumbs Up

I plugged this all in before scratching my head about the immobiliser. Probably too late and the car has gone into a sulk.
