They do eventually fail by burning out. I had similar on my old TDV8. Simple enough job to fit a new heating element pad.

I will add it to the list of jobs thats slowly growing. Does it take long to strip the base down to replace? Not sure if its worth the hassle or keep an eye out for a replacement seat. |

Good opportunity to renew the foam seat pad at the same time as they do tend to collapse over time and age with sliding in and out.
