Hi check the link shaft from the steering column to the rack there is a joint if I’m correct that starts to seize on small Uv type joint.Normally best if it is that is to get new one fitted think if Independent LR Garage price fitted about £250 |

I had the same problem on my 2005 a couple of years ago. Took it to my mechanic who lubed all the UJs. No problem since. Barrie.
