Any ideas on this issue? 2017 RRS Autobiography Dynamic, wide screen, InControl touch pro. Updated to latest software so it has Apple CarPlay.

I’ve tried 2 different micro sims in the sim slot, one is a PAYG Vodafone, one is a Smarty sim on the 3 network. Insert sim, switch mobile data on. Message says “reading sim” for a while then just resets back to mobile data off.

Wrong SIM or card reader problem?

If you are sure you are putting it in the correct way then a Card Reader problem.

I’m sure I’m putting it in correctly, it’s a fiddle but it does click into place.

How big a job is a card reader replacement?

It does click into place, not sure about cost of replacement as the older posts are regarding cars that were still in warranty. 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

I had a similar problem with a MY21.5 RRS. The dealer replaced the SIM card reader. Evidently a not unknown problem- they had plenty of spares! All good now. MY21.5 HSE 221KW D16

I'm on my third card reader so far and expect another at some point. All covered on warranty.

Had a similar problem, dealer found slot was full of fluff/dust, so card was not engaging fully in slot.

Cleaned it out and SIM card now works fine. 2017 RRS 3.0 HSE Carpathian Grey with all gloss black bits

Discovered a new quirk… Apple CarPlay and the SIM don’t play nice together. If I plug up the iPhone before the SIM has been read by the Infotainment system, then the SIM will not be recognised, and vice versa.

There was an Infotainment software upgrade today. Let’s see if that changes anything… MY21.5 HSE 221KW D16

I use EE, but I reckon the maximum it uses is 100mb unless it needs an update.
