That is the old IPod classic kit L/R used to do for pre-facelift RRS1's, I had one in my 2009 car there is also a dash mount for the iPod its's self as well for the kit., have to admit it wasn't much use but this is L/R were talking about.

I think you may find that kit was out and about before the first iPhone was ever launched so maybe not.
