What we quite often did on heavy trucks was lever down with a bar between the end of the track rod and axle and give the the bit the track rod taper fits into on the stub axle a good wack with a lump hammer more often than not worked, leave the nut on a few threads though if it does move suddenly you might headbutt the car if applying a lot of weight to the bar. Only a suggestion but might work.

The clout with a 4lb lump hammer worked for me, one track rod end was stubborn so I used my old fork type splitter on that. The problem is the threaded studs are so long most splitters won’t fit. Steve

Now resolved with a hefty further clout of the hammer and it popped out. Cheers all |
