Front Seat Remover - 2006 Sport?

Just changed all four rear "parking sensors" - so, that hopefully is sorted!! Next is to remove the Front Seat (RHD) 2006 Sport to check the wiring on the computer - looking under the drivers seat, it looks as though the wiring (red & black) going up to the "voice recognition" mike might have become damaged with the constant adjusting of the seat (the loom rubes along the rail when the seat is adjusted) Cannot find a video for SEAT REMOVAL, can anyone out there give me advice?!? Andrew Kennedy

You can remove the seat base cushion by removing four torx screws underneath. Easy to access and then just lift the cushion out. It leaves the loom etc exposed. Make sure you disconnect the heating wire and the occupancy sensor wire. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Hi Andy......Haven't taken the car out for a decent test, but changing the sensors seems to have sorted the problem. Regarding "taking the front seat out" to look at the wiring (without having to take the complete chair out). Would it be advisable to disconnect the battery? Air Bag problems? And do you know where those 4 bolts are to release the seat - perhaps it will be obvious where they are when I take a look??? Always glad to receive your advice!!! Andrew Andrew Kennedy

If you are removing just the base. Leave batt connected.
I was just warning you the bright orange yellow connectors at front are airbag

I don’t know where the 4 screws are.
But can confirm the whole seat is very heavy and awkward to get back in the car.

What are your symptoms of voice not working?
Do you have working LR phone installed?

P. S if you look from the rear with a
Torch you can see the 4 pin connector.
And should be able to see if it’s close to something

Thanks for yours!! Would I be correct that in the article you suggest I looked at, is JUST REMOVING THE SEAT and not the complete complete CHAIR? Andrew Kennedy

I don't have LR phone installed.

In the message box on the dash, I get "No Voice Detected" when I pull the paddle and give a command "Navigation.........". I have opened up the Diagnostic Screen. It indicates the mike is working - I have also changed the mike just in case it wasn't. Interestingly, before the voice recognition backed-up it was working interminably, perhaps indicating (I thought) a wire going to earth or damaged. I noticed the wire loom under the drivers seat (RHD), the wire loom seemed to scrap along the runner as the seat is being adjusted back and forth - that's why I feel it's perhaps worth a look after taking out the seat.....if I manage to local the bolts. Any advice gratefully received !! Andrew

A lot easier just removing the seat Base if all you need is access to the wiring underneath. 2010 RRS, TDV8

I’ve just bought a 2008 sport after having had a L322 for a couple of years .
I am going to replace the drivers seat foam i be read a couple of posts but my question is .Does the seat need to come out the car or have I read correctly and you can just remove the base with seat in situ .
Many thanks

You can just remove the seat base alone. It comes out as a metal pan with the foam and leather cover all as a unit. There are four Torx bolts - two front-ish, two rear-ish. Undo and the seat base should lift out with a bit of a jiggle. Remember to unplug the occupancy sensor and the heating element connector before lifting the base too far.

There is a thread about this very subject: https://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic43630...=seat+foam Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
