is my dealer being straight?

As mentioned earlier this week, I placed an order for an RRS HSE TDV6 2 weeks ago, My dealer told me that it would be deliverd late june(reason being I wanted a sunroof and they are factory fitted), I phoned him yesterday regarding a receipt and he told me there was a mistake with the order. They didnt charge me for the sunroof but because they have allready given me a price on my X5 they would still supply for that price (sounds to good to be true)........This is the interesting bit. Because they have worked harder for a buyer with a higher sell on price for my car they can deliver my new RRS by the end of the month !! So how does that work, one minute they cant supply untill june now the end of the month? (after looking closer at the costings they did leave out the sunroof) TDV6 HSE 07MY

Sounds like they are palming you off with a 2007MY model instead of the 2008MY you would get in June! Check the difference in specs and what each would be worth at resale! Gone - 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey, ebony, zabrano trim, TV, Tasmods, mudflaps.

thanks rrsjo and brian, the dealer said it would have all the new range spec....fridge, bremko brakes etc...would the 2008 be different........also originally I would have been happy to have it in April, but after reading some reviews it makes me wary of the dealers. TDV6 HSE 07MY

They might also have done a search of the nationwide list of stock at other dealers and found that there is a dealer who is prepared to swop a car that matches your spec for something that they need that your dealer has in stock already..................... thus 2 clients get cars earlier than they expected and should be happy. So long as you don't want a Buckingham Blue TDv8 HSE with privacy, sunroof and Logic 7 from my local dealer as I have "spat" on it already subject to financing............................ 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

The basic 2008MY changes are: http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic5513.html

The above may not be complete - no one seems to know the definative spec. The main visual difference to the interior for every car, is the central consul - this changes from grey to black.

If it were me I would be saying "No thank you - we will stick to our original agreement and contract for what will be be a 2008MY car". In the end it depends on what you will be happy with and whether you can wait until June. Gone - 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey, ebony, zabrano trim, TV, Tasmods, mudflaps.

There are actually going to be two model years in "2008".... an MY08 now and then MY08.5 (believe it or not) in September.

I agree with what has been said. Dealer found an '07 that another dealer is willing to trade. Up to you if the time waiting and extra price (I assume the sunroof will be charged on the '0Cool are worth the few bits of extras you get on the '08. My '07 bulid was traded to my dealer from another dealers's allocation. Also, If you are leasing, realize that the rate will be much higher on the '08 while residuals are still high on '07's, making lease rates very competitive. You can always put your order off and wait. I kept doing this and finally just said forget it and ordered. No matter what you do, there will be some better options and bits on the next model year. Sometimes if you get a deal you just have to jump on it.
