M.O.S.T ring break

phew I seem to be going round in circles, by using the not so secret menu I can dignose the M.O.S.T. ring, the diagnostics are saying there is a M.O.S.T. ring break but not where I have bought a fibre optic loop and have a M.O.S.T. light at the unit under the N/S seat same with the amp under drivers seat also have red light at BT unit and DAB radio, Sat Nav works through the secret menu but no voice guidence, no phone connection no dab radio and no fm/am radio have used the optical loop to loop out units one by one still no joy, should I be removing the power leads from the units if I bypass them also got no reversing cam but reversing sounders work, all fuses to the units check out fine under the dash. car is 2010 v6 hse facelift, can anyone advise my next move TIA.
Mark.

Could be a break in the optical fibre. You can test both ends with a torch.

Or maybe a fault with the headunit (master)

don't know sorry.
It's the part with the CD player I think.

It's unlikely to be that, just giving possibilities

Easy enough to remove head unit if needed,

I found it easier when removing centre console if leave transmission in neutral, stop engine and then remove gear knob easy enough just pulls off.

Remove trim panel below Screen with the clock/audio controls etc. in it not the silver part but the complete trim panel, quite tight but just pulls off, some of the clips will probably fly of into oblivion as normal and unplug electrical plugs. Can then Remove 2 screws under it one each side at top retaining the centre console side trim (Hockey Sticks).

Remove small panel where CD Slot/Switch is again just pull from end to unclip, remove 2 screws under it.

Open cubby box/cooler lid and pull up on sides off centre console and should unclip, unplug harnesses and lift out of way.

2 Screws each side of CD Player/Head unit, it then just slides forward and can unplug wires.

Cheers
Col

further to this problem diagnoses of my car took place today seems that the head unit is caput or needs software update,as the car was in the other month for a sat nav update I have p[lumed for a used head unit which I will have to get recoded through the main st(d)ealer hopefully that will be easy enough because you can now do it online through land rover fvor £20.

thanks to all that replyed to my query
regards Mark.
