Gearbox Guard

Eh up all,

I’m trying to figure out if my car is missing a gearbox guard Confused

It’s a 2012 SDV6 , it’s got the small front guard and then the larger full piece rear guard but it certainly looks to me like there’s a guard missing.

Anyone confirm if I’m correct or should it have one and if so a part number or photo or theirs Very Happy

I think I’ve found the part I need - but am I right Thumbs Up

AH32-6B629-AA

As always appreciate anyone’s input as want to secure before winter

Cheers

Google LR031644 superseded to LR069243 same item, the number you quoted is actually the engineering number.

Be sure to get one from a late 2011 to 2013 since the earlier ones won’t fit correctly. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory

All facelift 320L's now cross reference to the same part number, so theoretically they should all swap/fit.

I thought the bolts were different (smaller) to be honest, but you are probably correct

Also the front 2 and rear 2 are different bolt lengths (2 of them have spring clips)

As I said the bolts are M6 x 13.5 mm long, the spring clips are LR027995 which are the same as the front two bolts and clips retaining the small shield under the radiator.

Eh up all,

Success ( not another front sump guard trilogy 🤣)

Managed to find the correct guard for £40 delivered - quality was spot on

Fit to perfection, really chuffed as I did not realise how much protection it would offer to the gearbox casing 👍

Local dealer wanted £241.47 plus VA5 🤬

Anyway ordered clips ( thank Col) and had some flanged M6 laying around that I cut down and added larger washers

And went in like a dream

Just put some protection spray round the nuts and all good

Thanks to everyone for all the help, Hope this thread helps someone else

Odd thing about the transmission shield is the S/C doesn't have one or at least mine doesn't, thought dealer had left mine off early day's when noticed it was missing, but there not even listed in the parts list. Confused

Cheers
