Update L494 Climate controls from 2014 to 2016 Part No?

Hi all,

I'm looking to replace the heater control panel on my 2014 RRS to the 2017 version that has the heated seat controls available on the left and right heater control dials.

NOTE - I'm not talking about the new touch screen interface. In 2017 they added the ability to control the heated seats without having to to do it through the infotainment interface.

I'd like to pick up the newer version on ebay but as they look exactly like the 2014 version I'm struggling to find the right one. Does anyone know the part number for the later version?

Thanks.

I think this has been available 65 plate onward not 17. I am not sure whether they would be compatible but might worth that a try

Looks like you're right. Any idea of the part number? 2017 was maybe when they brought in the better infotainment touchscreen?

You can try the link below, just need to select which one.
A few options available

Just remember though that breakers yards will use the stamp number on the item
Which is different to the LR part number

im also in the market so if you do find an answer please share. I was looking at some parts on ebay and it appears they are different but if you take yours off and have a look at connectors that might be one way of to find out.

I seen these two parts one of them doesnt say what year but the other one says 2015 but it appears they have different connectors. one has cable with a plug where other one has a slot

This one is 2015 one

I've done the very same in my 2014 Dynamic, you can use assembly DPLA-18A802-DH or GPLA-18A802-DH.
Definitely a worthwhile upgrade for the cost/convenience factor.

Perfect. Thanks guys. I've ordered one on ebay.

The main reason for wanting this is that I've installed an android head unit and it's a pain in the rear having to go back out to the original Interface to then get the heated seats working. This way, I can do it just using the Heater control panel on it's own.

Good to hear it's plug and play as I suspected.

Exactly the same reason I did it, it makes life so much easier with the Android unit fitted!

Are both of these numbers the updated version, one seems a lot cheaper than the other? Joined the X5 45e club

Yes, the DH suffix is the important part, I bought the GPLA version as it was available and the cheapest, works perfectly on my heated/cooled seats.

I can confirm PN GPLA-18A802-DH is the correct PN and this is a pretty easy fit, just rear heater control surround (2 *mm bolts)

Just loosen enough to lay on floor

Remove the dash panel (its clipped on just pull the top first (left hand side)

The you can pull the hock stick silve trim up from the rear parts first and they clip off

Pop of the heater unit front cover again only clipped on

Then its 4 Torx screws

Pull forward then unplug

Adn then swap over and put back together, the switches only work when the ingine is running so dont panic!

Nice little upgrade if you can get hold of oen thats the only problem!

Just did a quick check and there is one here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RANGE-ROVER-SPO...SwLFJfjbj7

The silver part has a dent but it looks like it can be swapped for the one in your car arleady as it looks clipped in.

Handy for summer with the AC as you need to get them going asap! If a jobs worth doing, get a someone who knows what they are doing to do it!
