In the back of my mind I think this is deliberate, although I have been drinking. |

Try taking the terrain response out of auto until it warms up. |

Yup same thing happened to me a couple of winters ago. My guess is that you've got the Terrain Response control set on Auto and it is automatically sensing low temps and possible slippery surfaces and slowing the throttle response accordingly. Take it out of Auto |

At around 0C, if terrain response is in auto, it will default to "grass/ice/snow" or whatever it is called mode until the car is fully warmed up.

This is something I never noticed at all in November when we had daytime temperatures never above zero and nights down to -8c here in rural Central Scotland and I leave my car out on the drive overnight and run with the TR is auto most of the time on the road except when it is in Dynamic. It maybe that when there are low temperatures I do run gently for the the first 2-3 miles of my journey on a cold morning until the temperature needle starts to move off the bottom of the gauge. Next cold snap I'll have to pay more attention, might be more noticeable now that Q634 has been applied to the car since that cold snap. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

It is a software upgrade for some L494 RRS models. Check ToPIX to see if you are eligible. If you are, get your car booked in with a dealer to get it applied. It'll make the car feel better than when brand new. Good performance enhancement and better electrical power management.

That was it, out of auto and it's back to it's best.

It was -9c here overnight and -1C when I went in town - as usual left the car in Auto TR and no churning or chugging or slow pull away like the car was in GGS mode and restricting the power being put down. I have a level drive, no slope and good grippy surface so I wonder if you have a drive with slippery surface on a slope? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Yep my car is always sluggish in this winters deep freeze, I particularly notice this first thing when pulling out onto the main road from the driveway, a feature I always appreciate as you never know if black ice is just sitting below you as I first set off. MY18 SCV8 Satin flux silver

Assuming you have a 2010 TDV8 as shown in your profile, you don't have an auto terrain response setting. It was brought in with terrain response 2 on the new shape RRS (the L494). 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |
