Struggle To Start when cold.

Hi, I’m hoping someone can help out. With all the snow lately through the night, first thing on a morning on a few occasions my car would not start. All the electrics are going crazy and it’s trying but then draining completely. I’ve been using a portable jump starter and it fires up first time then that’s it sorted for the day.

Do you think this means a new battery is needed? Also my stop/start has never worked that I can recall so thinking the aux battery is probably also dead or disconnected. I’m thinking I may just buy and replace both together. Cheers Jamie 2016 Yulong White L494 AB/DYN 3.0SDV6

Put a meter across the battery when not running and then when running. What readings to you get?

The main battery may just need a decent recharge although if it's been totally drained it could be knackered. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I had the same a while ago due to lack of use and only short journeys.
I put a C-tek trickle charger on it for 24 hours and been fine since

Thanks for the replies. I’ve just been out and removed the side panel in the boot where the aux battery should be and there is nothing there. Does this mean there is a capacitor instead of the Aux battery? 2016 Yulong White L494 AB/DYN 3.0SDV6

RRSTDV8 what readings should I get? Going to try this. Does the battery have to be disconnected? Also would it be possible to do so using the jump points under the bonnet? Thanks 2016 Yulong White L494 AB/DYN 3.0SDV6
