Do I have cruise control - 2006 rrs?

Hi All,

Well this is my first post, and Hi,

I've just bought a range rove sport 2006 with 165k with no service history 🤣🤣🤣

To be fair I love it, even though its a bit ratty but I know nothing about the car, no history just X2 keys.

Is there anyway to know if its equipped with cruise control as it does not work when I press the button.

Thanks for your help all, I'll probably be back soon with multiple issues soon but st the moment it's 165k and running smooth.

Thanks!

If it's got the steering wheel buttons, then I would imagine it should (you can sign up for TOPix which will tell your build spec). The clock spring can often be the cause of problems, and/or the small wire loom. Do the other buttons work?
Hope you've got a good one or they can be money pits!

Hi thanks, hopefully this one's OK🤞

Yes both buttos are there, but clicking the clock or + does nothing.

I bought up the secerrt menu on screen, and it did not say if it was enabled or not.

Perhaps I'll investigae this clock spring as I looked closer at the clock button and it looked like the button was split in half 🙄 weird. Maybe someone else was smashing the **** out of it trying to make it work too🤣🤣

Cheers

Clock spring has nothing to do with the clock.

The clock spring is the mechanism that allows the steering wheel to turn (from lock to lock) and remain electrically connected to the car's systems. If there is a fault it may not allow the cruise control signals to get from the steering wheel to the systems.

Not sure you can get the build spec. on older vehicles now even if you pay for a subscription on topix.

Thanks for that Col. I didn't know that. Thumbs Up
OP, sorry I didn't make myself clear, as garrycol said the "clock spring" is under the airbag on the steering wheel as is the loom I referred to. If you have a search here/Disco3 forum all will become apparent.
I had an early D3 and very occasionally my CC wouldn't work until I recycled the ignition. It never developed into a problem so I didn't bother investigating.

First of all, Hi, and welcome to the mad house. Laughing

165k, no history. Now that's brave. Shocked Laughing Hopefully you got it for a song. Thumbs Up

It might be worth asking a LR specialist to have a look at the car's CCF (configuration file) to see whether cruise is actually activated. Someone might have had problems with it and deactivated it. Or it might not have been fitted at all. If it's activated in the CCF, then at least you know you're chasing a physical issue such as a switch or wiring. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Just a really silly thing but just in case, you have to be going over 19.9 mph for CC to work.

I know as I use my CC in London for the 20mph limits (& 30s if applicable).
