Fault Code B1D21-13

Have fault code B1D21-13 Remote Control Switch - Circuit open. Says No Steering Wheel Remote In-Car Entertainment Switch pack Functionality. Now everything works fine on the steering wheel control, code clears ok. start car drive forward or backwards in straight line no problem and no code but as soon as turn steering wheel code comes back.

Possible Causes, Steering Wheel Switch Pack, Clockspring or Wiring Harness. Which do I go for first any ideas? I'm leaning towards Clockspring but open to any ideas/suggestions.

Cheers

Does sound like the clockspring is likely but ISTR the loom is quite cheap and it's usually suggested to start with that. Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Col,

Just resurrecting this old thread as I now appear to have the same fault code showing!!

Did you ever get to the bottom of the issue?

If you can let me know I would appreciate it.

Alternatively, if anyone else has had this fault code and managed to rectify it.......

Hi,

Initially I never bothered about it anymore as never affected the audio at all, but later on I did fit a sports style steering wheel, while I was changing it I also changed the clock spring and small wiring harness which I happen to have in the garage and the fault code disappeared after that. So to be fair not sure if it was the clock spring or the harness. Personally if I was taking the steering wheel off to change the harness would change the clock spring at the same time or visa-versa.

Cheers
