Looks very very nice Kev. What year/spec is it? I must admit to knowing little about L405's. 2010 TDV8 - current - my first RRS, loving it so far......
2005 Cayenne S - handling defied physics and what a sound, so sod the mpg!
1995 Disco TDI- surprisingly reliable, shame about the peeling dash & other trim
Lots of other non 4X4's in between times.........

It's a 2014 Vogue SE with the 4.4 SDV8 engine, opening panoramic roof, electric side steps, adaptive cruise with queue assist, soft close doors etc... Kev

Sounds great. What does queue assist do, help you jump the queue at roadworks or force you to merge in turn? I always understood that full fat RRs also came with outside lane assist as standard which helped them stay in the outside/overtaking lane on empty motorways. I think it helps when in stop start traffic where the car will stop and move based the car in front. No doubt I'll be having a play with it this afternoon and reading the manuals afterwards! Kev

So, I picked the car up yesterday from a non-LR main dealer. All that can be said is that the whole experience was completely underwhelming!

A number of items that were meant to be resolved either have been botched or not done at all Evil or Very Mad After some negotiation, the dealer has agreed to pay for some of these items to be rectified local to me, which is a good starting point, but still a hassle.

However, I'm very disappointed that car had not been inspected before me turning up and has put a massive dampener on making the second largest purchase of my life Rolling Eyes

Then, whilst driving home, I found that I have a grinding noise when turning left or right at speeds over 20mph.

I shall be writing to the Head of Business of the dealer in question and if the issues cannot be resolved with minimal hassle from my end, the car will be returned.

To say I am annoyed is an understatement.

To be continued... Kev

That's so disappointing Kev. I feel for you. All the build up and now a sour taste in your mouth. Hope it gets resolved well Robin

Good luck Kev you deserve it, reminds me of when we bought the Evoque last year that only lasted 2 months before I called it quits. Still good news came out of it I now have the Sport.

This mirrors my experience of buying a FFRR 2012 Westminster a few years ago from Marshalls in Lincoln. The 180ish point inspection they claim to do is a joke. They clean it and put it up for sale. When I got mine home I put my IID tool on it and it had codes. Phoned them and they said take it to my local Marshalls and they would sort it. One code was EGR related which they claimed was a sensor fault. When I picked it up I put my IID on it and that code was still there. They said the FFRR TVD8 always shows that code. My reply was rude. Phoned Lincoln and they came and picked it up. Returned to me a few days later fixed. I then drove to Wales as my mother was in hospital and on the way back I got an Engine Management Warning light. I got home and contacted them. They came and picked it up again. Returned a week later having had a new EGR cooler fitted.

My mother died and so I returned to Wales and again on the way home the EML Came on. I rejected the car and bought my present RRS from another dealer and have had it nearly 4 years without a issue.

This is not an unusual tale - Main Dealers are Censored . useless and it not just LR dealers.

Give them a hard time Kev, but if you get it sorted they are beautiful cars.

Interesting LandPhil the Evoque was supplied by Marshall's Lincoln in 2012 but I bought it from Marshall's Honda near Weatherby in 2019, they had lost all trace of service history and one of the keys.

So, just to report back on the current state of my L405 experience.

I've identified a couple of issues which I have documented on the FFRR forum https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic56981.html

Because the selling dealer is a long way from me, they have agreed that the vehicle shall go to an independent near me (Bournemouth LR in Poole) for diagnosis and quotation.

Fingers crossed, it'll get sorted, the bill will be paid by the dealer and I shall be a happy bunny. Kev

Excellent news, get it done sharpish to keep the momentum going. Won’t do any harm to get them to give it a once over so you really know what you’ve got. Good luck Thumbs Up 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.

I'd second that, did they decide who did the work or did you.
