Looking to buy RRS SDv6 concerned about Crankshaft issue

Hi all....after very many cars owned, I am looking to buy my first RRS, have found a 66 plate Autobiography with 65k on the clock, at a cost of £35k.
Main concern is about the crankshaft issue I have come across, and was wondering if this is a Big potential fault with this car. Last thing I want is for my shiny pride and joy to go bang a short while after I buy it. I do a lot of miles each year and can not afford to be off the road for extended period, not to mention the associated cost of replacing the engine!!. Currently own Audi A6, previous car was a Jag XJ 3.0d Portfolio, so do like the JLR brand...any advice would be welcome, especially as looking to make a decision in the next few days...thanks in advance.

Despite the failures you read on the web/FB etc, weve not had a single failure across the whole range, on anything that we've serviced regularly

We only use good quality oil (JLR approved nonetheless Whistle ) and OEM filters. Whether that has anything to do with it, or whether its pot luck, is up for debate...

ETA: If its a 3.0 engine your looking at, its exactly the same as was in the Jag Thumbs Up

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Fuji White

I Had One go a week after I sold the car,33000 miles full LR history & oil changed (Castrol) between services,as Disco_Mikey says it’s pot luck with the 3.0 engine,I’ve seen them go low mileage & high mileage.
If you purchase one make sure it has a good warranty that covers the crankshaft failure,or go for the SDV8. Andy.

Cheers for the quick replies guys, sorry I wasn’t clear, yes it is the 3.0d SDV6, I wasn’t aware it has the same engine as my previous XJ. I have a local Indy LR garage who I intend to phone after the Bank Hol to get there opinion as well. Other point is, these machines are very techy with all the electronic 4 wheel drive system and air suspension, and although like 99% of other users, I won’t be taking it off road, are there any known problems with regards to those items?

Finally, with regards to warranties, what companies do people recommend that will cover the crank etc

Cheers

Also check the rear brake pipes as they are prone for corroding,I’ve changed a fair few from 2013’s to 2015’s.Easy change for a Indy to do,it takes me around 45 minutes to change both sides.Hard to see them unless you have the car up in the air.
Warranty,I would say warranty direct as their is a few members on here that have used them. Andy.
