2015 SVR Exhaust Issue

Hi Folks,
I have had a slight tiny vibration at 1000rpm when pulling away.. Bit annoying, but soon went when you got going. Valves were working fine.
I went into my Main Stealer during lockdown to let them look at it .. which is all I think they did, as they said it was the exhaust valves not shut properly and vibrating. “It will be ok if you leave them open under spring pressure” Rolling Eyes or you can fit a new exhaust section for £1400 plus Vat and Labour!! Surprised
Needless to say I left. I got the same vibration with valves either open or closed so that was a waste of time.

Left it a couple of months but it was so annoying so I went to Infinty Exhausts near J18 M4 yesterday to have them look at it. I just googled ‘Exhaust Specialist’ for my area (Swindon)
Boy, I am glad I did! They diagnosed it within 1 min ... the in pipe to the first silencer in the middle was vibrating in its corroded clamp. Stay in the car (I was up on the ramp) and we will weld it for you as a temporary fix, and you can decide what you want to do.

Job Done Thumbs Up

As they showed me it when I got down, we discussed various options for improving things. The silencer feels very tinny, so we discussed getting rid of it and just having straight through pipes into the second silencer. They also offered a full exhaust back to the valves and even X-pipe.

I think the SVR is pretty good as standard and I need to keep the valves as I leave my village very early for work !! Neutral

However, I am considering getting rid of the poor joints and first silencer ..

Anyone got any comments that this would adversely effect the exhaust flow? Balancer pipe required maybe?

Appreciate any technical observations.
Cheers
