RRS bonnet latch sensor failure...so annoying!!

At some point in your Range Rover ownership your bonnet latch sensor will start to play up, randomly setting of the alarm telling the system someones opened the bonnet...usually in the middle of the night...mine started doing it. So replacing it is a relatively straight forward job, lets take a look.

That's very helpful but when I did mine recently I just installed a new micro switch part rather than the whole latch. Less than a minute to swap it out, no need to even remove the grill. Just remember to leave the wiring plugged in though until you have the switch out of the latch, saves you dropping the old switch into the depths of the engine bay! 2010 TDV8 - current - my first RRS, loving it so far......
2005 Cayenne S - handling defied physics and what a sound, so sod the mpg!
1995 Disco TDI- surprisingly reliable, shame about the peeling dash & other trim
Lots of other non 4X4's in between times.........

Go easy on the greasing.
LR has advised against lubrication of the bonnet catch as this may cause early life failure of the micro switch within the latch. Malaysia Boleh!
