And if you booked an appointment to go in they will offer sub £50k at a bet, they like to play on the vulnerable people in this country. |

I have heard they like to find loads of reasons to drop the price more when you get there..

Try the Autotrader valuation, they give both private & dealer prices. I imagine prices will be dropping quite badly if as expected the large unemployment figures come to fruition |

They're the buying arm for British Car Auctions, aren't they? In which case any price they give you has to leave enough profit in it, not just for BCA, but also for the trader who buys the car to make a profit.. £20k doesn't seem unreasonable (from the perspective of BCA and the ultimate trader) I suspect.

I doubt SVO paint will make any improvement on the valuation. Indeed it might reduce it slightly - any damage is going to be a game to fix which might make people less likely to buy one with that option. Unless you get someone who absolutely loves the colour, of course.

Interesting point there - second hand car values on the continent (in many countries) are far higher than they are over here; for a long while I ran what we would consider "beater" cars like the Vauxhall Omega (great car, though rust is killing most of them now). Over here you couldn't give them away, I don't think I got much more than scrap value for a low miles 2003 car when I sold it, but on the continent it would have been a £2-3000 car.. talking about that with folks in the owners club over there suggests that the difference between them and us is the prevalence of PCP deals; they're nowhere near as available there, so fewer new cars floating about means much higher secondary market prices. 2014 BMW 530d Touring, 2006 BMW 650i, 2018 Mini Cooper S |

If PCP wasn't so available in the UK, LR's prices would be lower all round and we'd all be getting better deals. Sadly, the availability of "cheap" finance means prices are high. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

Very true. I bought a 3yr old LHD Golf here in the UK for holiday use to/from/in Spain as used car prices over there are crazy compared to here. When I sold it four years and 20,000 miles later it had only cost me £2500 in depreciation. The buyer happily drove 500 miles up from London to get it and took it to Eastern Europe as he said he was getting a bargain compared to home! 2010 TDV8 - current - my first RRS, loving it so far...... 2005 Cayenne S - handling defied physics and what a sound, so sod the mpg! 1995 Disco TDI- surprisingly reliable, shame about the peeling dash & other trim Lots of other non 4X4's in between times......... |

@never ready: you could still sell privately perhaps? Although the stream of idiots wanting a test drive in an SVR might make that untenable. At least advertise it on this forum? L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso
