Being bored stuck at home, yesterday I typed in my reg on WBAC and they came back with a price on £51k !

The car is a 17reg SVR that has 15k miles on it and just about every option including SVO paint colour which is one of the reasons I bought it as it's different.
I paid £68k just over 3 months ago and was shocked how little they offered.

Has the bottom dropped out of them or are they just hoping people are desperate for the money at the moment?

And if you booked an appointment to go in they will offer sub £50k at a bet, they like to play on the vulnerable people in this country.

I have heard they like to find loads of reasons to drop the price more when you get there..

Try the Autotrader valuation, they give both private & dealer prices. I imagine prices will be dropping quite badly if as expected the large unemployment figures come to fruition

They're the buying arm for British Car Auctions, aren't they? In which case any price they give you has to leave enough profit in it, not just for BCA, but also for the trader who buys the car to make a profit.. £20k doesn't seem unreasonable (from the perspective of BCA and the ultimate trader) I suspect.

But as Linda says - there's still some optimisim in the markets keeping prices relatively buoyant - if we end up with the 25-35% unemployment some analysts are predicting for the US then prices really will plummet.. 2014 BMW 530d Touring, 2006 BMW 650i, 2018 Mini Cooper S

I doubt SVO paint will make any improvement on the valuation. Indeed it might reduce it slightly - any damage is going to be a game to fix which might make people less likely to buy one with that option. Unless you get someone who absolutely loves the colour, of course.

It will be interesting to see if the pandemic and the fall out from it includes a reduction in the number of people saddling themselves with 3 years of eye-watering monthly PCP payments just for a car. Its going to be a buyers market for a while, now trading in my 2017 SVR with 23k, dealer offered £55k

Interesting point there - second hand car values on the continent (in many countries) are far higher than they are over here; for a long while I ran what we would consider "beater" cars like the Vauxhall Omega (great car, though rust is killing most of them now).
