Hi there,

I've noticed a bit of a drone noise when off throttle and slowing down. Not very loud at all...
- the sounds oscillates in line with speed... i.e. it slows as the car slows...

I'm thing diff or a shaft.

Think i should be worried? Preventive measures?

i previously had a diff leak that was re-sealed and filled...

I think I have a similar issue.
Present at low revs eg 1200 both in neutral and when driving. Mild vibration through steering wheel.
Took it in, they couldn’t hear it and said it was probably supercharger whine (which I don’t buy).
Did you get anywhere with yours?

So totally may not be the issue but I had something similar and looked under the passenger side front wheel arch and a large tree branch had wedged itself inside.

I had something similar after the dealer fixed a diff leak under warranty in my last AB. Turned out to be the diff. Replacement diff fitted, and a rear prop shaft as they noticed it had started to throw grease. Final diagnosis after a road test was to run it on a ramp, wheels free and the technician listened under the diff and it was howling!
