Hi All, this is my first post! Hope someone can help.

I own MY19 PHEV RRS. software updated to latest version 19. Everywhere I read I find that from version 18C onwards, Apple car play is included. Not on my car!! I got SOTA with latest update however and it works well.

Dealer insists that although I have Incontrol Duo Pro, Apple car play cannot be installed because I do not have the sim slot in my car configuration and I only have the USB ports in the centre console.

All online research points to the result that what dealer is saying is rubbish.

Has anyone here had apple car play installed in his car without the sim slot port in his car configuration please?

Not all countries get Apple Car Play, there are several D5 owners on the Disc05 site who discovered this.

Your dealer is probably right I am afraid.

I read the thread on the Discovery forum. Hmm, seems to be a JLR policy more than anything else. They do not release it in all markets at same time.....this is discriminatory, to say the least.

However my dealer didn't say that its not released on our market yet. In fact, new models being purchased now, have it included already. He said that my car configuration which DOES NOT include the SIM-SLOT, cannot physically/technically have Apple Car Play installed! I find this to be non-sense as I cannot identify any possible TECHNICAL REASON as to why without the SIM SLOT, APC cannot be installed.

Any insight on this is very welcome.

Would also appreciate to know whether anyone else has APC/AA working in his car WITHOUT the SIM-SLOT installed in his car. This would be great help to me.
