Internal accessories power socket

Hi
Can someone tell me if the power sockets are live all the time? Or do they go off with the ignition?

I'm sure they power down a short time after ignition is switched off, If you do a search I do vaguely recall a post where someone has modified them to be live all the time.

Cheers

Had a quick look to see what mine actualy did, they power up by opening the door but have to turn ignition on or they will power down again after couple of mins. switch the ignition off and they power down after two/three mins. if you turn the ignition off and lock the doors they power down straight away.

Cheers
Col

Yep, as noted above they power down with ignition...

I'm in the process of adding an independently switched permanently live feed, will do a post on here when I actually install it to the car.

There are several permanent live unused fuses in the internal fusebox under behind the glovebox. Fuses 18, 28, 29 and 33. Kev

That's really useful to know, cheers.
Is that fusebox accessible without removing half the dash / glovebox?

It certainly is derek. Just open the glovebox, push the stays inboard and the glovebox will hinge down into the footwell exposing the fusebox.

Awesome news... I can't tell from the pics, are they mini blade fuses or standard sized ones?
I'll get a tap ordered as soon as I know!

Glovebox disassembled as noted, next job is to find a route for the power cable from the fusebox area to to driver's side... this look as though it might be entertaining!
