I'm sure they power down a short time after ignition is switched off, If you do a search I do vaguely recall a post where someone has modified them to be live all the time.

They go on and off with the ignition. 07MY RRS TDV6

Had a quick look to see what mine actualy did, they power up by opening the door but have to turn ignition on or they will power down again after couple of mins. switch the ignition off and they power down after two/three mins. if you turn the ignition off and lock the doors they power down straight away.

There are several permanent live unused fuses in the internal fusebox under behind the glovebox. Fuses 18, 28, 29 and 33. Kev

It certainly is derek. Just open the glovebox, push the stays inboard and the glovebox will hinge down into the footwell exposing the fusebox.

Glovebox disassembled as noted, next job is to find a route for the power cable from the fusebox area to to driver's side... this look as though it might be entertaining! |
