If he wants to learn how to seriously off road, and not have to pay a fortune to repair, as well as having a comfortable car, and having to pay ridiculous insurance because of your youth, then I can't think of much better than the pre p38 RR...

it's also one of my favourite cars ever so I'm probably biased

Ok, is the pre P38 RR the original model? Can you please explain the history of the different RR vehicles please, it may make more sense then. And what do you mean about the insurance on the pre P38?

ok, so
MY 1970-1995 = Classic Range Rover
MY 1995-2003 = P38
MY 2003-onwrads = new/current Range Rover

I like the P38. By the way, whats the difference betweenm the P38 and the P38a, if any?

And just out of interest, how much do you usually pay for insurance on your RRsports, RR's and any other Landie you may have, if you don't mind disclosing such information, that is.

Just got a quote from theAA. Rolling Eyes Said that a 21 year old driving a Classic Range Rover 1993, estimated to have a value of £3,500 will have to pay £3,700 to insure their vehicle, a group 14, 2.5TD S. Guess i've got 5 years to save up then Neutral

All approx figures, but you must remember the age difference, experience,no claims discount and also weather or not you go for limited mileage and big excess figures and non protected no claims etc etc etc some of my Previous cars
