Audi A3 Overheating - Any Ideas?

After some wisdom......

My Sons Audi A3 (2010) 1.6tdi is overheating, we have bled it several times (expansion bottle top of and run until warm) unless there is another way I'm missing but to no avail, It recently had a timing belt changed and at the same time we changed the water pump, but still overheating.

Yesterday we changed the thermostat but still the same, I'm fast running out of ideas, any one had the same or similar issue?

Now thinking check fan is working , but even at a steady speed with air flowing into the front it still get warm or remove rad and flush out/check water flows through it....

Any other ideas of wisdom would be apprciated.

Did you use the correct coolant? Is it G12 spec for those? Paul Redding

I have a mk1 TT with the VAG 1.8 engine, they come with a waterpump with a plastic impeller which has a habit of breaking and causing overheating. For this reason the waterpump is changed as a precaution every time I change the cambelt. MY17 RRS 4.4d V8 Autobiography - Aintree Green (also referred to on Topix as British Racing Green)

Have you checked the rad see if it’s blocked, check for cold spots if you can, could be the head gasket or even a cracked head. You don’t say if it’s using, blowing out the coolant, if not try a new temp sensor and/or check the sensor wiring had a petrol vw polo recently where the wire had rubbed thru against the block causing the gauge to go into the read 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8 current
