Recently bought my 2010 RRS and noticed on the way home a vibration at around 70mph that built up as speed increased and even if not. Went away once I had braked or turned left!
Suspected brakes but had wheels balanced and it made no difference.
Knew rear discs were in need of replacement although main dealer said not, but started at the front.
Front discs all looked good until they were removed. Inner face of n/s disc had nice flowing horizontal ripples on it, how they got to that point whilst the outer face looked true is beyond me, but there you are.
90% of the vibration went away, the remaining when the rear discs were replaced.
Definately do not go for budget discs, it's a very heavy vehicle and inferior quality materials will not last long.
I chose Brembo high carbon content discs, brembo pads at the rear and as I upgraded the front to 380mm discs and 6 pot calipers, I also upgraded to ceramic pads.
The end result is far greater braking, no squel, less brake dust and more importantly, no vibration.
Hope this helps.
