Steering

This weeks fault!
Steering heavy. Still got power assistance- but definitely heavier than it was. Also shakes at 60. Four wheel alignment done recently.
Warranty runs out in two weeks as I'm selling it.
Any ideas please?

Broken wire to the servotronic valve on the rack. Very common issue Thumbs Up

There will be a fault stored in the RLM if this is the issue

Check the RLM for fault codes first.

The wiring runs down the NSF wheel arch, down the OS chassis loom to the rear of the car, over the crossmember by the EPB, back up the NS chassis rail, along the front of the car under the intercooler, then works its way up to the valve

It's a lot of wiring to check if there is no fault code stored Thumbs Up

I bought my RRS a few weeks ago and the guy said the steering was a bit heavy, when I went to see it but it was booked in for the bottom UJ. When I picked it up the steering wasn’t heavy but heavier than I expected especially after driving my FFRR with 20’s on.
Also had a problem with the terrain response not working, got error message on dash special programs not available. Plugged it in and no codes logged! Anyway to cut a long story short broken wire from steering column valve. Steering feels so light now and terrain response working again.. Very Happy

God I’ve missed owning a Land Rover and the fun you have... Thumbs Up Current: 2010 RRS 3.6 TDV8 HSE
