hi guys

im looking to buy a range rover sport around the 2014/15 age

i would only buy from the approved used scheme and as i only drive 10 miles a day it has to be a petrol as the diesles would give issues on short trips.

is there anything i need to look out for?

ive heard of the timing chain giving problems,what years did this cause problems? was there a recall/upgraded part?
what sort of costs involved in changing it?

i have a specialist very close to me called reid speed (anybody give a review on them please)

The timing chain tensioner problem was on earlier cars. A 2014/2015 5.0 SC should be fine.

Barons BMW Cambridge have my 2014 RRS 5.0 SC I owned it for 3 years great car always under warranty while I had it but only ever had the suspension compressor go,its currently advertised for less than they allowed me on part ex 2014 RRS AB 5.0

on those year models, you should watch out for the rear diff pinion seal, which is prone to leaking. --

thanks buddy, is it a costly job? would it be covered under warranty?

Not sure about cost, as mine is still under the original Service Plan - all costs are taken care of.

There is a recall for this, so make some noise with the dealer if you are out of warranty, they might just do it for free/cheap. --

Also ask them to give you it in writing that they will cover it under the Approved warranty. Andy.
