Have you used a rotary polisher before because if not you can soon damage the paint,me myself I’ve got a Meguires Saul action so not to damage the paint,,well not as easily anyway.Ive got this pad for finishing.

I have a meguiars DA polisher also,, supposed to be one of the more user friendly one's,,, they reckon the only way you can damage the paint is to throw the machine at the car!.

My polisher is a rotary polisher, variable speed, runs off my compressor and uses a 6 inch/150mm pad "Velcro Backed". I have used it with a black pad (Bodyline I Think but not sure) for applying polish no problem. However I wanted to apply a coat of wax, but not sure what pad to go for. So far I have only ever wiped the polish of by hand with a microfibre rag, some idiot told me it was therapeutic so wondered what was best way to polish off with a rotary polisher. I joined detailing world years ago, far far to complex, all I want to do is clean the car, Local jet wash, a coat of polish, followed by a coat of wax, nothing else. Not a land Rover, but it was built at Lode Lane by Land Rover

If it’s just wax your applying I would do it by hand, apply with a wax applicator & remove with a good microfibre cloth. Andy.

Thanks for the feedback, guess I wont bother with the wax. I leave it at jet wash and occasional coat of polish. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures

Don’t keep polishing it as it will eventually remove the clear coat, once it’s been polished it just needs topping up with wax every 6 month. Its easier to put a coat of wax on it than it is to polish it. Andy.

No fear of the top coat being removed Andy, I don't polish it that often. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures

i've always DA machine polished and then applied wax/last stage products by hand, so i can thinly apply it and make sure all the panels are evenly covered, and less risk of reintroducing marks on the paint
