TDv6 vs TDv8

I'm having a bit of a quandry here...

Turns out the difference (to finance) a TDv6 HSE vs TDv8 HSE is much closer than I thought.

Can anyone sum up the pros and cons of either? I understand the v8 spec is a bit higher... can anyone list me the full details?

Ta...

if your only looking at monthly's and not overall cost, then the TDV8 is a no brainer - get it - if your looking at the overal cost however, then the TDV6 offers good value in comparison

So everyone says TDv8 then?

Looks to cost maybe £900 more over 3 years. Sounds worthwhile, but I could have a TDv6 "soonish" but presume th TDv8 takes a while Sad

If you aren't choosy about spec you can have a TDv8 very quickly by taking whatever the dealer has in stock, but they don't tend to order them with too many goodies on them. I was offered a TDv8 HSE in Buckingham Blue with Sunroof, Logic 7 and Privacy Glass with immediate delivery by the local dealership. But for a car specially ordered you can expect to wait 3-4 months or even longer. If you dealer doesn't have anything suitable in stock ask them to search the dealer network for what they can get from other dealer's stock. The one I had my eye on has ended up as a dealer swop for somebody at the other end of the country who was desperate for a dark coloured TDv8 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I didn't think there were a huge amount of "options" for the HSE spec, to be honest... Smile

Colour and interior are important, but I want pretty standard choices or Bonatti or Black exterior, and black interior.

Privacy definitely... but I don't think there's much else I'd go shopping for.

Yeah I getcha. Looking down the list, things like 20" alloys are standard, as are the adaptive cruise etc etc.

Like I said, 2 choices of colour (both pretty standard as an order in the system I guess) so that's possible.

One spanner in the works - I notice Motorpoint has 2 RRS TDv6 HSE "in stock". Both pre-registered, but 2007MY cars. £44k each. Seems good value... as I'm looking closer to £47k for one specced with 20" wheels sourced elsewhere.

Hmmm... choices choices.

I had a Supercharged for 6 months, TDV6 for 12 months before the move to TDV8, the difference is significant, a Chipped TDV8 even more so.

If affordable the TDV8 is the pick of the bunch Thumbs Up Something else is always something better:
