Anybody using wikiloc ?

Just found this while searching for off road trails in the Somme France .....tens of thousands of trails all over the world and you just upload to phone and follow the trail . Always listen to old people or when they die you will live on in ignorance.

I have not used it, but along with many other apps it shows cycle routes around my house that are on private land.

A lot of these so called trails are uploaded by people posting where they have been, not necessarily along a right of way.

So just be careful and check access rights before you meet an angry Frenchman with a shotgun! Whistle 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

Was going to post what jimbg has said - these apps sometimes show illegal routes that people have just decided to "go that way because it looks nice". Much care required to avoid getting in a spot of bother. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Where I want to go in france (in search of wildlife) is single track roads or farm tracks and the law says you must chain it off or mark as private so I dont for see too much of a problem. Always listen to old people or when they die you will live on in ignorance.

The best source of info are IGN maps ( French Ordnance Survey )

They even do specialist Somme maps. 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled
