Yet another TPMS question.

So, after finding out my pride and joy didn’t have TPMS when I got a soft tyre, I began making frequent visits to the petrol station (ok, it’s a SC so I live on the forecourt) to check and top up. I’ve always wanted to retro fit them and when I retro fitted the RSE, I found a connector taped to the ICE loom. A quick check of Topix and sure enough it was the TPMS wire for the rear right sensor.

So I bought the 4 sensor antennas £40, the receiver (with mount) £18 and 4 valve sensors for £45. I’ve now read there maybe another module but I can’t find it for the 2012 in Topix or EPC. I think it may refer to the earlier design as the wiring diagrams show the wiring trace back to the CJB for the antennas and aerial.

Anyone know if the 2012 just used the CJB and the receiver module behind the roof light to control TPMS?

I will probably find out when everything’s installed and it doesn’t work lol. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

If you do get it to work it is a pretty useless system on the RRS1 as all it does is let you know if a particular tyre has dropped below around 25psi. that's it, you can't check pressures or anything else. I guess it is better than nothing but only just, there are far superior aftermarket systems out there.

Cheers

I have heard it’s pretty useless but after finding one tyre at 15 PSI I became paranoid so I’m always checking now. As the wiring is present and the parts are cheap I thought I’d retro fit it. It looks identical to the type fitted to the Ford Mondeo which I found worked quite well and displayed a reading so it must be the LR software which didn’t include this capability. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

The bit's you mentioned are all I have ever seen on mine, but to be fair I haven't been looking for anything else, but do have a vague recollection there could be something else up by the spare wheel but may be another antenna for the spare, however may have imagined that. Make a note of the sensor serial numbers and which wheel before you fit them as I believe you can enter them manually using diag. tool if it does not recognise them although it should do it automatically after a run. Thumbs Up

Cheers

Got it sorted, took a little guess work to get the correct CCF but it appears to be working. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)
