2.7 Cambelt tensioner question

Hi quick question I've changed my cambelt today 2.7 tdv6 done lots of belts on different makes and models in the past just the cambelt tensioner had me check twice when building it up. The question is: do you put the tensioner on, tension the belt then tighten it once it's at the correct tension indicated on the tensioner? , the reason I ask is on VW's and Audi's with a similar style tensioner they have a locking tab that locates on the block to stop the tensioner turning once it's tensioned and tightened if this makes sense? The land rover one doesn't seem to have anything like that..I've built the car back up and it runs fine just keep thinking hope that tensioner is correct! (Genuine land rover kit used) PS I looked at the "How to" on this site before starting Thumbs Up

This is an example of the vag tensioners with the bit that hooks into the block. With that hooked in position it would help stop the tensioner spinning and loosing tension. Obviously the bearing part of the tensioner spins.
I'll get a pic of the land rover one tomorrow

I think it’s ok.

Use Allen key to apply tension
Tighten bolt using torque wrench. Not too tight.
Rotate engine couple of times.
Ensure tension arrow at correct position.

Yes it’s ok they don’t have a locking tab like the VW 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8 current
2009 TDCi 90 current
2018 Discovery 5 HSE lux current
1994 Dakar current
