Hi I’ve just noticed that my RRS has AFS and doesn’t work and never worked in the year that I have owned the car and never had any warning lights on the dash and no messages , fuses checked ok , could this have been disabled in the past . |

Whilst I don't know the answer to your direct question, can I just ask a couple of stupid questions? Are you sure you have AFS? Check the label on the headlamps and in the yellow bit it should say "UK-AFS" if you have (would have thought you should have on that year and model). Secondly why do you say that they aren't working? Its a quite subtle movement. Best way to test is to turn your lights on at night before you start the car and watch the headlamp beams. If they go through a "dance" before settling then your AFS is working. For all I know you are an expert and so these questions are just annoying but... Robin

Hi and thanks for the reply , yes both headlamps have the correct sticker and the AFS power module at the base of each headlamp . I parked the car in front of my garage door and switched it on and not even a tiny movement from the headlamps and I don’t get a warning light , so I was just wondering if it could have been disabled by a previous owner but for what reason I don’t know , a bit like my steering column adjustment ,that don’t work either . |

Hmmm. Sorry then I still don't know the direct answer as to whether switching them off is possible. If I had to gamble I'd say no as I am sure over the 3 years or so I had problems with my headlights (and bored people on here silly with them), I would have thought some of the wise owls on here would have suggested that as an option for me - but they didn't. It's not a fuse thing is it??? Other than that perhaps a local indie can plug it in for you and see what they can see Robin

I’ve checked the fuse which is ok but one thing that I’ve noticed is that when I switch on and check the warning lights there is no AFSwarning light |

That’s ok thanks , I was just looking into trying to improve my headlamp performance and thought the drivers side was aiming a bit low and won’t adjust up a bit even when trying to adjust , then I noticed that there was the AFS system fitted and also my owners book says it should have D2s bulbs fitted whereas mine has D1s and I don’t think I could fit D2s as they need a separate ballast box , but thanks anyway |
