L320 Servicing at 12 years old and 93,000 miles

My car's about to go to my trusted indie for its annual service. Had a B service done last year and so it's a A service this time. However bearing in mind its age and miles, have any of your guys/gals any thoughts on additional things I should ask them to check or do - minor or major?

Had a gearbox flush last year but I don't know about cooling system drain and refill (LR say every ten years I believe) or brake fluid. Front diff is a couple of years old so should be fine.

Thoughts??? Robin

Mines the same 14 years vintage and on 74k. Big service for me in March which will be cambelt (2nd one) and I’ll ask for the diffs & TC oils to be changed.

I’ve got a LR schedule list somewhere I’ll have a look. 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.

If you have had your front diff oil and gearbox flushed recently, keep them as is.

There are plenty more fluids though....coolant, transfer box oil, ACE fluid and filter, rear diff oil, power steering fluid, brake fluid etc.

Depending on when they were changed last, it could be worth getting them replaced.

I did all of mine last summer and intend on keeping fully on top of it to prolong the life of the components as much as possible.

Also, how are your struts looking? Mine were shagged after 10 year and 90 odd k. I replaced them all and the ride was transformed. Kev

Thanks Kev. That all sounds eminently sensible. I had my rear dampers done in 2018 but might ask them to look at the fronts.

I need to get the car in tip top condition as my daughter is getting married in July in Aberdeenshire and she wants me to drive her to the venue in it Shocked . So that's around an 1800 mile round trip and I can't afford any issues. But this is a Range Rover Sport so you can bet that something will happen Rolling with laughter Robin

I found the service schedule and the only thing not mentioned above is the flexible brake hoses need changing ever 6 years. 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.

Neither of my RRS have had the flexible brake lines changed at 6 years. I've mentioned this and the response is that they are checked over each service and changed if they are deemed to be needing it. This doesn't seem to be unreasonable. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

It seemed strange but I totally agree. Changing them will be reactive to an issue not preventative in my opinion. 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.
