ATC (automatic temperature control) module Help!!

Hi all
I have late 2005 RRS 4.4 v8 purchased couple of weeks ago found it have a small list of electrical problems
Drivers heated seat not working
Front and rear screen demisters not working
Front and rear windscreen washers not working
Cold air only on all passenger side vents, both front and rear drivers side fine

Doing some diagnostics fuses all ok, washer pump tested and working
Checked RRS workshop manual and found this

the ATC module
also controls the following:
The front seat heaters.
The rear window heater.
The windshield heater.
The windshield washer jets and exterior mirror heaters.

Reading this my logic tells me that all my issues Have one thing in common this atc module.

I cannot find anything on the net about the atc or automatic temperature control module, no part numbers or any for sale.. where can I purchase replacement, what is part number?

The arc is the unit in the dash with the buttons on.

Check fuse for the water pump

This is probably what you are looking for, however you would need to verify part number based on Vin No. as per usual with L/R there are numerous choices based on the options you may have fitted to vehicle, although a lot will have superseded to same number. The picture you have posted appears to be for Facelift Variant of the RRS1 2010 on, not a 2005 year vehicle.

Thanks
that’s the same as the controls I have but the manual shows the ATC module as being separate from the front.
the manual is for L320 which I believe is my model.
Manual states
The ATC (automatic temperature control) module is mounted on the outboard end of the air inlet duct, behind the
front passenger side of the instrument panel.
No 3 in pic

Those picture are for a 2010 on vehicles, not 2005 as you say you have. I suspect you have the workshop manual for the 2010-2013 vehicles not 2005-2009.

Cheers

Thanks I thing your right about the manual although judging by the pic of the climate controls looks like same system
I presumed there was the same atc module in the 2005 sport as all the parts it controls are what is broken on mine, seemed more than coincidence that this is the one common controller linking all the faults together.
I have checked all fuses non are blown, I haven’t checked the blend motors yet but I did perform the self diagnostics and had it on my souls pro diagnostics, no errors
I also have issue with the drivers seat relay clicking underneath and mirrors not working, I’m led to believe this is a common issue, bad splices in the wiring.

Hi
Yes all lights on switches and buttons work as they should lights also change from say 2leds to 1 led over time
Passenger electrics and heated seat works fine

I have very little heat on passenger side including wind screen vent and rear passenger vents.
When I turn to cold the temp on passenger does get colder, turn heat to full then heats up very very slightly
Drivers side very hot from all vents.
Headlight washer works fine windscreen washer and rear screen washer does not work, no sound from pump
Took pump out tested with battery pump works.
Checked fuses all seem fine
Thanks

Sounds like a stuck air mix flap to the passenger side, likely a motor failure. I think they are a Delphi product, so not all that reliable Wink

And Col has pointed you in the right direction, 2005 model doesn’t have a separate climate module, the module is the controls on your dash, the electronics for the climate control are in the same box

Suggest you get the fault codes read Smile

Thanks
I have a snap on solus pro that I used to read the code non present, did have 1 code ref engine temp low taking long time to warm up, changed the thermostat and now gets to normal temp in a couple of mins.
Also performed internal diagnostics on the climate control panel where you hold couple of buttons whilst turning ignition on, this again came back error free

there is 1 fuse which only does that one water pump. The fuse is know to fail if the water freezes (it's below 0 ATM).
LR even suggest increasing the fuse size.

I suggest you look in the owners manual. Find the fuse behind the glovebox, and pull it out, and fit a good one, even if you think it is fine!

Yes sounds like a bend flap fault.

They all sound common faults to me and I wouldn't blame the "ECU" ATC

tips on screens not working

The ATC does the mirror heaters but not movement

Fuse 11 behind glovebox for water pump.
Should be red. (or maybe blue for upgraded)

Thanks
First thing I did was Changed all the fuses, I think the drivers electric seat / mirrors issue is possibly the wiring in the loom that runs along passenger sill apparently there are some splices which break
I did take the sill cover off expecting to get access to the loom but then found another plastic cover which I couldn’t work out how to get off, looks like it slides looking at the white clips, apparently it just pulls off so need to revisit
This is the 1st Range Rover I’ve had, always avoided them because of all these type of issues, got a good deal on this one couldn’t refuse and to be fair it’s a stunning machine, it’s got the jag engine in this one sounds and drives like new Very Happy
