Any crankshaft or oil dilation issues with the 4.4 SDV8?

Are there any crankshaft or oil dilation issues with the 4.4 SDV8?

Are there any advantages or disadvantages over these to the 3.0 SDV6?

I haven't seen crank issues but oil dilution is an issue on all DPF vehicles that RR produce based on my research. As more diesel is injected for a DFP burn oil dilution will occur. Seems it is a bigger issue with V6 but that may just be that more opt for this engine. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

MY16 SDV8, read on here about oil dilution as service light came on early... was at 15% what ever that means... Should be around 6.... they changed the oil and filter FOC and told me to go for more long motorway jaunts....

Stop start , short trip , will add to oil dilution. The theory is with Syn oil it will lesson the damage . I have spoke about this and believe the correct measure is more frequent oil changes. A V8 diesel to run around town is not going to work, I own a diesel because I drive the vehicle to diesel conditions , would not own a petrol . M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.
