Engine running cooler

Now I know the outside temp has dropped all of a sudden and I don't drive the RRSS very often but today I noticed that the engine took longer to get up to temp. The LPG didn't come on as early too. And the temp gauge is slightly below half way when it has always been dead on half.
Thermostat stuck open? What do you reckon..

Yes I did a bit of research online and that seemed to be the common fault. Thanks.

Replaced the thermostat about an hour ago. Only when I took it out I realised I had no new big o ring for the housing. Fingers crossed my sealant will be ok..
And true to form the old stat had the rubber bit all ripped and falling off the centre part.

By the way.. When I removed the plastic air intake I had to unclip a small pipe on the right side. On the left there is a alloy pipe end with a big Allen head bolt on the top of it- it has no pipe connected to it. Any idea what it is or was for? It's just to the left of the ally air intake hole.
