Hmmm. Doesn’t seem that ACP is really worth it. Been using incontrol the last week since I got the car and seems to be able to do what I need for most things. Haven’t properly tested how well the sat NAV works in difficult traffic but so far so good. Have never used Waze, so not sure what I’m missing there.

Definitely get speed limit and camera alerts in Waze but haven't seen police alerts yet. I believe they will work but just haven't driven it enough yet to experience everything. I get speed limit alerts from the car's own system as well, even though I don't use the built-in nav (it has traffic sign recognition).

Just to update, this weekend I found out that I do get hazard alerts (like pothole or car stoped ahead etc.) and police alerts from Waze through ACP on my Volvo. I also get options on the car’s screen to “thank” for the alert or to say “it’s not there”. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

Is the software upgrade with ACP actually worth it? Apart from ACP, is there any additional functionality associated with 18d? My dealer wants 200 shekels to upgrade, I was rather hoping to get it as a freebie! Running 18c just now.

I had the ACP feature added (cost £120) when updating to 18D and I must say that it is significantly better than the ICTP Apps. Much faster, more reliable in terms of initial and ongoing connection and great to have the option to be able to run Waze. The interface is totally intuitive as it is the same as your phone OS and can be used by anyone with an iPhone that is driving the car (i.e. other driver does not need to download LR Apps).

It is not perfect; no music search in Spotify but you can scroll through tracks in playlists and albums which you could not do in the ICTP app version and a bit more tricky to scrub through a track. Also when using Waze, you don't get directions/ map route in the instrument binnacle display, only on the main screen. You can still put the LR satnav maps on the binnacle and use Waze in the main screen but you wont get the same instructions. Minor points which don't detract from the benefits.

Since having it installed I have not used the ICTP apps at all and hopefully will not have to in the future!

Putting aside ACP, what is the difference between 18c and 18d?

All very personal I guess but I don't like car play and personally don't use it.

I just find the entire thing clunky and weird. Whilst using anything whatsapp notifications appear but you can't read them on screen they just disappear!

Waze is useless as no police alerts so I rather use it on my phone. Spotify is useless as you can't search - rather use my phone...whatsapp don't work - so not sure what else this Censored is good for lol

I would be VERY angry if I had to pay for this. I won't spec it on my next RR for sure as no way I'll pay for this.

Well the car went in for some warranty work which they took their time about, wife grumbled so got a wheel alignment and ACP gratis. I'm back in the UK next week so looking forward to trying it out. Oh and upgraded to 18d (phase 4) too.

Jag Dealer says 19a on hold for a month, Velars getting bricked apparently.

18d won't get installed either as that too has issues.

18d absolutely bang on for me. Really happy with the system. MY19 5.0SC Dynamic AB - Boss Grey, Black Pano Roof, 22” Gloss Black Alloys, Ebony/Ivory Massage Seats, Carbon Fibre Finishers, HUD, DTV and the all important Cabin Ionisation...

Yes 18D is good for me too, quite snappy responses to keyboard inputs. Hardly use ACP. No problems so far.f Very Happy RRS P460e

An ongoing major mystery for me is just why some people have zero issues with ICTP and its updates, and others endless problems.

How can that be? Same hardware, same software, very different outcomes. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.
