It was about 30 minutes for me. I was very impressed with the speed company area to last time I did it. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

djb222, That looks like an interesting restoration on the Lotus Elan (S4?) hope you are going to give a step by step account of your progress. Back in the early 70's I had an Elan Sprint in the JPS colours, then a Europa twin cam in the same yellow as your Elan and I added genuine Minilite magnesium wheels Nothing could beat them for speed or road holding & contrary to the myths, mine were pretty reliable. Brings back happy memories The Europa was my favourite. A pal of mine had his twin cam engine tuned by Hugh Shannon who stayed in Perth.

Thanks for that David, I will certainly check out your channel. I loved these cars in the days before cameras & speed guns. You only got stopped if the police were behind you & they were usually very far behind you On the rare occasions I was stopped they were more interested in the cars than giving a ticket. One time I gave the traffic cop a run in the Europa while his partner tried to keep up in the traffic car. Without success Happy days |
