TDV6 (258 PS) vs SDV6 (249 PS)

I ordered SDV6 (306 PS) befroe LR announced new SDV6 (249 PS) and i'm happy about my engine of choice. What i don't understand about LR strategy is why it introduced the new detuned SDV6 engine?

On paper the 'old' TDV6 is better engine, lower consumption, lower CO2, better acceleration. The question is: Why offer both engines TDV6 and detuned SDV6?

I guess there is a good reason but i can't see it.

Seems odd ? RRS1 SDV6's were at around 255, so on face of it appears they are returning it to that state of tune.

Is this a regional variation? LR's site for the UK only shows the 306bhp SDV6 in the RRS. There is a 275bhp version in the FFRR, however. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Hi, there was info on anther forum that mentioned that the TDV6 was being dropped because it could not meet new emissions regulations. Also dropped from RRS for 2019 is the SD4 ingenium , the info was slightly vague on whether this was emissions related, though.

2.0L SD4 240 hp
The AJ200D4H (SD4 240PS) engine is removed from 19MY. This applies to all emission specifications
(EU6, EU5, etc.) and markets.

3.0L SDV6 249 hp
The AJ200D4H (SD4) will be replaced in EU6d-Temp markets (Europe) by a 249PS version of the
twin-turbo SDV6. With only 9PS extra power, this engine delivers extra 100Nm of torque and faster
acceleration compared to its predecessor - 2.0L diesel engine.
Note: The performance figures listed are the last target information and are only intended as an indication.

3.0L TDV6 Diesel
The existing TDV6 3.0L diesel engine will not be upgraded to meet the new EU6d-
Temp-legislation and therefore the 19MY will be withdrawn from the EU6d-Temp markets.

Availability of diesel engines for 19MY
To summarize the above changes, Diesel engines are available with RRS at 19MY:
In EU6d-Temp Markets:
• SDV6 249PS
• SDV6 306PS
• SDV8 339PS
 MY15.5 SDV6 HSE Dynamic without the H . Yulong White

Oh i see now. LR could not make the TDV6 meet emission standards so it used detuned SDV6 for EU markets, and it will sell TDV6 on other markets where emission standards are not that hard to meet.

I guess that the configurator for my country has TDV6 there by mistake.
