Water collecting in tailgate

Anyone else had this issue? Both corners of the tailgate drip water when opened nearly all the time. It’s obviously been a problem forever as there is a lime trail on the plastic. Reckon I’d have a stalactite if I left it any longer. Rolling with laughter

I had this problem on my old RRS (MY15). I found the water was getting in behind the brightwork trim on the tailgate. Removed the trim and siliconed around the clips that hold the trim on. Problem solved (after remaining water drained from tailgate). Never happened again.

May be the same on yours.

Mine does this too. I assumed it was normal like when water drains out of doors and from the sunroof drains too....isn`t that why the holes are there (tailgate ones)? Steve.

Had the same problem on mine, it appeared to be water ingression via the holes under the number plate. Holes plugged problem resolved. RRS 2016 3.6V6 D. Autobiography Dynamic

My 2018 SVR did this from new! The spoiler was misaligned in the SVO workshop. Body shop removed and refitted (it was squeaking as it opened due to the same spoiler mismount rubbing) and is now fine.
