Yes & no Sport! Only a small number were made (39?? worldwide) for the G4 Challenge last year and they are all UK spec (right hand drive) naturally aspirated V8 petrols (not S/C's) which is now a discountinued model in the UK. There is one for sale in the north of Scotland at a dealer and several have appeared on Ebay. LR recently had a closed auction for dealers where they sold off a batch.

Not quite right Tim Bow down 35 Sport's were built, for the G4 event of 2006 , as you say, all proper engined V8 4.4 petrol,, but some rhd, some lhd
Competitors and team staff used 20 of them for Stages 1+2 in Thailand , a single vehicle appeared in Brazil, with the remaining 13 used by the Press in Bolivia

Mine is now in the process of being sold Sad 997 TT, RR TDV8 Vog SE 90 V8 Hybrid

Surely the difference between what EXX5 says and what you guys are saying is competiton. If you are talking about MX being your offroad experience then that really compares to compsafaris that the like of Bowlers compete in. It is very fast and a RRS would last about 10 minutes! If however you compare the trail riders who travel the green lanes then the RRS is very competent - you would never drive a green lane at speed so are far less likely to incur damage.

I have to say if MX gives all those injuries - how can you call it fun!!! Wink

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

Mx IS FUN during the bits between crashing. anyway ive packed it in now cos of the pain! I see where you're coming from about the competition, but it doesnt matter if you are actually competing or not - what we're talking about is the SEVERITY of the terrain and the RRS's suitability (from a practical viewpoint) as an off road vehicle.

Like I said before, I had a SWB landy I used to drive at trials venues. From what I remember, it got scraped, bashed, mud flaps ripped off - and when stuck in some muddy stream; we'd be jumping in and out, with water streaming in the doors, covered in Censored (ie all over the seats), and clambering over the bonnet to hook a winch up to then DRAG the thing across a rocky streambed and up the bank side! Like I said before - to me (and this is only my opinion), THIS is 'proper' off roading - and I would NEVER put my sport (with expensive panels, shiny paint, nice carpets, and beige leather) through that!!!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL

All been said before EX-X5, all valve relative,,

I would not put the G4 through things like this,, yet Shocked

no doubt in a few years time , people will, when they get cheap in the owner's mind,

Loads of P38's are used off road, and slowly, as the years past, for more extreme stuff,
but 10 years ago, If someone with £40k + worth of Range Rover were using them heavy off road, they would be called mad, but if they are in a position to write of the valve, and £40k is small change, then that's up to them,,, :blub:
