Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad So to day i went to put fuel in my rrs for the 1st time. jeep is unlocked . i press against the fuel lid and it doesnt move.so i went round the to boot opend panel on right hand side. found the wire detached. so i have no idea if the actuator works. But got fuel lid open with a screwdriver only to find a sticky bad had been stuck on Censored . and the yellow cap not locking as its damaged n snapped...so my question

Is how do i check actuator and are they hard to fit ???

Did you recently buy this RRS? Private or trade? If from a garage, get them to fix it and pay for it. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

If you have to DIY this is such a common issue that there is a repair kit available and sold on eBay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Rang...1420925739

If you need a new cap for the tank I have a spare one so PM me your address and I'll post it to you FOC. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

Wow this is a lesson, in all my 30+ years of car ownership and checking this and that and the "make sure everything works" I can honestly say I have never checked the filler flap/cap = learning lessons from others Whistle .

Glad you can get an easy fix. Thumbs Up

The tip of the locking cables can also break. So examine the end to see if it looks ok, or broken.

But to check the actuator, simply hold the cable, look at it, and press the lock unlock buttons on the fob and see if you get movement.

The yellow caps are meant to go round and round, and click when tight

Well there was your first problem - you unlocked the Jeep but didn't unlock the RRS. So what has unlocking the Jeep got to do with putting fuel in the RRS?
