Hi guys

Have just taken delivery of my 2018MY SDV6 HSE Dynamic - at last!

On my first trip out I immediately noticed a slight knocking noise when driving over bumps which appears to be coming from the front suspension area.....

Strangely it sounds very similar to the suspension knock previously experienced on the older model Sports due to problems with ARB/ARC? bushes.

I can't imagine this is a specific 2018MY issue but anyone had similar issues with a L494 Sport? Any ideas?

Obviously I will get my local dealer to check it out but any input would be most helpful!

Knocking noise now checked out by dealer.

He suspects either anti-roll bar bushes or lower suspension arm bushes. Parts now ordered and car booked in.

Not bad for a car that is less than one week old and l have driven for less than 50 miles..............!!!

How can a bush fail in 50 miles? I wonder if something just needs nipping up... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

What a joke. The dealership can't tell whether it is a lower arm bush or ARB bushes. So they didn't bother looking. They are not interested in fixing your problem; all they see is ££££££s because the car is under warranty so whatever they do they can charge top money for it. So that'll be £500 for a lower arm and another £500 to fit it plus another £600 to supply and fit ARB bushes oh and don't forget the £250 for a full 4 wheel alignment that they will screw up and your tyres will start wearing out.

My guess is after all this work the knocking noise will still be there. RESULT; they can take the car back in and overcharge for something else.

When I got my16 VW Amarok pick new in dec 16 I noticed a front end knock,,i put it on one of my ramps & the D bracket that holds the anti roll bar on was missing a bolt & the other one was lose,,i called VW to ask iif they had pdi'd my truck & they asked me to take it back to Hull 30 mile away to put another bolt in,which I refused & did it myself,i wasn't wasting half my day just for them to fit the same bolt as I did.I just wanted to inform them that whoever had done the pdi hadn't done it properly.
