Hello am new on here I have a question and I hope I can find a fix.

I drive a 2005 RRS 2.7 TDV6.When I accelerate and then take my foot off the accelerator there is a strange noise comes from the drivers side and I can hear it every time I accelerate and then ease off the accelerate.

It does not happen in the morning when the engine is cold but 5 to 10 mins driving and it reappears. It sounds like a rattle, or something metal but I am not sure.

It is almost impossible to hear this noise if the car is stationary, it is only really audible when driving.

Really frustrating, need help.

Its not the big black plastic trim on the outside of the door is it? Check to see if it has come loose. It is only held on with plastic clips. A sharp smack with the palm of the hand sometimes re-seats the clips or you may need to replace some.

If not the above then have a look at the exhaust and the surrounding area in case any hangers or heatshields have come loose. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

I think it's a heat shield. I had it on my Defender many years ago and I have it now on my MY07 TDV6 D3. I have decided to live with it. I pay more attention to the noise of the failing wheel bearing.

Hi did u ever find the problem I have the very same soon as I let off the peddle I hear a noise like grinding for a second it's not there on idle if I'm driving at about 50mpg I can hear it constant and if I go over that it goes away any idea.
