I just fitted a set of OSRAM LEDFOG 101 DRL/Fog Lamps to my 2010 TDV8. Everything worked fine until I plugged my CTEK MX5 charger. After the charger had gone through its analysing stage the DRL lamps started flashing intermittantly. I have read a report elsewhere with a similar issue.
It appears that the control unit will still energise the lamps without the ignition on wire being energised if the battery voltage is above a certain value (around 13.2-13.3V).
The only fix for this problem is to put a relay on the battery feed wire so that there is no power going to the control unit when the engine is switched off.

The DRL function is excellent.
The fog light function is not very good. Not a problem for me as we never get fog here.
The cornering light function uses the fog light so it doesnt do very much.

I forgot to mention once the CTEK charger voltage gets to about 13.6-13.7 volts the DRLS are lit permanently.

Presumably the DRL controller isn't very intelligent and just assumes high voltage means "engine running" so turns on the lights? 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

You would think the ignition on wire would control whether the lights are on not voltage on the permanent supply. I think the ignition on wire is for cars where battery management systems operate and it tells the lights to go on irrespective of battery voltage which can drop down to 12.7v

that's the problem with aftermarket bits.

Designed for easy installation to all sorts of cars.

Just move the controller battery + wire to an ignition supply, and see if they work ok then.
