ACC – "Radar blocked"

More and more regularly when using the ACC I'm getting a "radar blocked" warning and the system disengages, followed by a second, much longer note on the dash which says something along lines of "IEB system deactivated..." Everything usually re-engages within a few minutes (no need to restart ignition) and, from memory, more often happens in bad weather. Sometimes also prevents engaging system in the first place but, again, usually changes its mind after a few minutes.

Does anyone know where this radar sensor is? Always assumed it's the set of lenses under the rear-view mirror but that's swept by the wipers so shouldn't ever be "blocked".

Any ideas about whether the problem really is down to dirt or if it's more likely to be a software glitch would be very helpful.

Think they are cameras, the radar system is below the front number plate.

I got that message once, during a monsoon type rain storm. never seen it since. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

The radar is the flat black plate beneath the number plate. Check it is not blocked just in case! MY16 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography in Aleutian silver, stealth pack and toys.

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

This has been a problem with DiscoSports and Evoques with ACC and the smart braking system and there was found to be a fault with the camera linked to the IEB system - check that it isn’t dirty but also you may have to visit a service bay for warranty work. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
